Samsung Jet Lilac Compared to Nokia 5230

The advent of mobile phones have produced a revolution on our lives. Earlier the mobile phones were utilized only for receiving and making calls, but as times are changing rapidly they have become a lot more glitzy and sophisticated packed with lot of oomph and useful applications. There are lots of big players that are launching these beauties in the market and each mobile has some killer and distinct functions that makes it unique and exquisite on the market.

The newly launched mobile phones like Nokia 5230 and Samsung Jet lilac have many functions that makes them exquisite in their own methods. The Nokia 5230 cell phone is the new cell phone that is expected to release within the fourth quarter of the financial season whilst Samsung Jet Lilac had been launched in the market and is available from June,2009. If we compare both the sets, former has a display display of 3.2 inches and the latter have the display size of 3.1 inches. But 5230 mobile handset has a TFT resistive screen which displays 16 million colours and provides a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels whilst talking about Jet’s display display, its AMOLED resistive touchscreen consumes less energy and consumes lesser amount of battery to display 16 million colours and even a much better resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Both the mobiles have Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and Proximity Touch Display Sensor but Samsung mobiles have TouchWiz v2. UI alongwith Motion UI.

Nokia 5230 handset has an Operating Software of Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5 while the other handset contains a Qualcomm MSM6246, 800Mhz processor. Both the handsets have impeccable and provide SMS, MMS, Email, Instant messaging features but Samsung Jet Lilac have a separate function of Push email. Each the phone supports Jave applications but with some differences. The Nokia handset

have functions like Document Viewer via which one can view documents which are supported by Word, Excel and PowerPoint formats. Alongwith that it has also obtained a function of Photoeditor embedded init where one can edit their respective photos as per the requirements. Whereas Jet also got some truly exemplary features such as Digital compass, Media Gate 3D and Smart unlock. Each the phones have inbuilt Stereo Fm with RDS, but latter one has obtained FM recording too by which one can record his/her favouriet songs which are coming on FM.

There isn’t much distinction in respect of data technologies which are supported by each the phones. As each the phones are 3G enabled and have GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE and Bluetooth. The real distinction lies in their respective memory space. On one hand we have Nokia 5230, which has an inbuilt memory of 70 MB which may be expandable if you use a micro SD card. On the other, we have Samsung Jet, which has an internal memory space of 2GB ehich could be further expanded by a micro SD card.

Another major difference lies in the camera features. The Nokia one has a camera with a 2 Megapixel camera with a resolution of 1600×1200 pixels whilst another one has obtained camera of 5 Megapixel which clicks the pictures at a mind-boggling resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels alongwith auto focus and LED flash features. There exists a secondary camera as well in the Jet handset with a function of videocalling. Alongwith that it has features like Geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, and a wide dynamic range.

Last but not the least the Nokia 5230 includes a standard Li-Ion battery of 1320 mAh whilst the Samsung Jet Lilac includes a Li-Ion battery of 1100 mAh. The former has got a common battery back up as high as 432 h in 2G and 3G but the latter one has a battery back up all the way to 422 h and 406 h in 2G and 3G respectively. But Nokia one provides an additional music play of 33 hours.
